Damagician Game On!

As some people might know, I was injured last season, so I did not play at all last year. Today, I just started goalie trainning for the first time in months. It was AWESOME! I had a new chest protector (Vaughn Epic 8800), new pants (Brians Dx2 Pro), and a new mask (Hackva). It was pretty ackward with the new equipment, but I managed to do pretty well. Continue

John Alexander Off Season (dryland) training versus just playing a Summer sport

I'd like to get some feedback and thoughts on the topic of off-season training versus just playing a Summer sport or combining both. Also thoughts on how much ice outside of a goaltending camp, if any, considered to be sufficient to maintain skills. Continue

Ethan Dayton We got third in State

We got third in State. We played Arvada and lost 3-2. I was so sad. Oh well. We still got third in state and we still beat the best team in our league and we still beat the team that won state, Littleton, in a Presidents Day Tournament 2-1. Oh well. It was still fun to play in! Continue

Matt Evans Before the big game

When I get prepared for a big game I usually try to get the most time to get dressed and ready. I usually get in, get dressed as fast as I can. Then while my teamates get dressed, I crank up my music as loud as possible and visualize. Get the pre-game talk and hit the ice. I usually think of every game as a normal game.. Continue

Mike Robinson The never ending slump

Seems recently that I just can't get a good solid game together. Even in my d league game last week, I got lit up for 8 or 9 goals! Yeah, I can't remember the exact number...I'm trying to forget about it. Part of me thinks it's poor conditioning. I don't feel my body is responding well. It's like I've lost some core strength. I've also been fighting through a slightly strained groin. Another part of me thinks I'm just trying to hard. Then there is the extra stress I've been going through recentl… Continue

Mike Robinson First blog...ever

Well where do I begin. I suppose a little about me. I'm married with 2 little boys. I've been playing hockey for about 13 years. Started playing roller, then found and fell in love with playing on ice. Hockey has become my passion. I try to play whenever I can, but being married and a father of two makes it difficult...especially since the closest facility is 45 minutes away. After that I have to drive 2 hours one way to play.

I also coach goalies. I didn't think I would enjoy coac…
