About Me:
I have been playing in goal for over 11 years. I recently started coaching at the Goalie Development Center and am just loving it! During the summer I work at Okanagan Hockey School in Penticton.
I played AAA/AA/Div1 hockey most of my life. I have been trained by Ian Clark, Kevin Swanson, David Marcoux, and Francois Allaire. I'm not that big, but I sure am fast (at least thats what I think lol).
When I am off the ice, I like to work out alot, and play sports. I love beach volleyball and squatch. I'm also the biggest geek you will ever meet.

Summer Trainning

Trainning is going great. I gained 10 pounds already. I changed my trainning to more speed related excercises, and it made a huge difference. When I was on the ice last night, I felt light and my endurance was much better. My only problem now is, like always, my Fleury legs. I always over push too much. I can't get myself to do little pushes when I'm down, but it'll come! My Brian Dx2 pants are awesome still! Love them! Best pair of pants I've ever had. They're big, light, and flexible. I modifi… Continue

Game On!

As some people might know, I was injured last season, so I did not play at all last year. Today, I just started goalie trainning for the first time in months. It was AWESOME! I had a new chest protector (Vaughn Epic 8800), new pants (Brians Dx2 Pro), and a new mask (Hackva). It was pretty ackward with the new equipment, but I managed to do pretty well.

yea when im talking about thigh raise im talking about the pad it comes up in the front. i tried posting pics but kadak sucks. but the pad is also angled and i think if i lossen the strapr in the knee and tighten the bottom knee strap it looks like it will pull the pad flat and help the way the pad comes up in the front.

I love my hackva its extremely comfortable I love it I got the red tex. which looks sick with the pads blk/blk/red w/ white stitching. the pads are great I got a few things done to the to suit me. I spent about two hours before I got on the ice working them out and just did skating and low hard shots from a friend. the only problem I've got with them is that the thigh raise comes up (+3) over the ice at the five hole, so ive got to do something about that. and I'm getting used to the sliding toe bridge and the triple knee raise which I love it lets you get up so much quicker.

I finally got my leg pads from vortek still waiting on the gloves but the long task of breaking in begins now. and a new mask from hackva I couldn't believe the great fit and lifetime coverage. do you have any tips for breaking in pads?

the ice is tough to move on it's like 5 times harder to skate on then normal ice.the plus to it thou is that if you make a mistake like say you go to t-push and you are leaning on the wrong leg you go nowhere and it makes you a lot stronger and more quick

my long day

Yesterday i had dryland training 4 2 hours straight inside. it was about 30 degree Celsius, so me and my friends were burning hot and all felt like puking. then after that i had 2 go 2 hockey 4 1 hour 15 min. after that i died, but my dad say i looked pretty good. then the weird part came. i could not fall asleep.

Off Season (dryland) training versus just playing a Summer sport

I'd like to get some feedback and thoughts on the topic of off-season training versus just playing a Summer sport or combining both. Also thoughts on how much ice outside of a goaltending camp, if any, considered to be sufficient to maintain skills.
